Selby Big Local- Credit Union Outreach Officer

  • 17.5 hours per week, hours of work will be over three days with regular timetabled outreach sessions to be arranged but some flexibility will be required.
  • Wages will be £8.50 per hour.
  • Working around the Selby Big Local area which consists of the Flaxley Road and Abbots Road areas and part of the town centre.

We are currently looking to recruit a new employee to our team to take on an exciting new venture created in partnership with Selby Big Local. We currently have eleven credit union branches in the Yorkshire area and want to expand our current operations in Selby, particularly in the Selby Big Local area.

The successful Outreach Officer will report directly to the Credit Union’s Head of Operations and be responsible for the propagation of our services into the Selby area. This will require you:

  • Visiting a variety of community sites within the area to promote and develop our services.
  • Enrolling new members and assisting them in taking up the services we offer such as budgeting assistance, savings accounts, applying for loans, etc.
  • Assessing loan applications in accordance with the credit union’s policies.
  • Meeting targets agreed between the credit union and Selby Big Local.

The post holder will be supported by the credit union to meet locally set targets by the Selby Big Local partnership. The job will be part time with hours to be worked on a flexible basis over a 3 day week. This vacancy will be fixed for one year with a possibility of this being extended.
